Dorm book-lg

Into The Dorm! covers everything from preparation and organization through packing boxes and cars right up to how to say good bye when everything is unloaded.

As a mom who’s been through the process multiple times with both our son and daughter, I’ll share my insight and experience to make your transition easier. Full of comprehensive lists and tips, this sanity-saving guide is sure to keep you on track as you prepare your child for life in a dorm.

This guide is a culmination of years of mistakes and experience, designed to make your life easier.

When we packed for our first dorm move – over six years ago – we thought we had our act together. The list of do’s and don’t’s from the school. The list of ‘must haves’ for our daughter and her new roomie to feel at home. The lists of things we thought were essential and useful.

We got it all wrong.

Oh, most of the important things got to the school, but during the unloading it was clear we’d significantly hampered the process. We’d used more open totes and crates instead of boxes, thinking about multi-tasking in the room, rather than stacking things to make loading and unloading easier.

I created this book to save your sanity as well as save you from our mistakes. Does Twin XL really matter? Yes! Forgetting a bed pillow is an easy fix… leaving the dorm fridge behind, not so much (and it wrecks that fabulous sense of accomplishment that everything fit so EASILY into the vehicle).
