Books To Watch For + Giveaway

The pre-order button at Amazon is almost as dangerous for me as the one-click when it comes to shopping for books. Anticipation is the sweetest thing, especially when life throws you a curve ball. I had a plan for January and life laughed in my face. In a good way, but still…

Months ago my mother applied to move to a retirement community. We all thought she’d have at least thirty days to plan the move once a space opened up. Not so. We had five days to pack and move her and her cockatiels from her apartment of 14 years to her new apartment of 515 square feet.

One thing I looked forward to through each hectic day of the process was a few quiet minutes of reading before I fell into bed each night. And now that I’m almost back to my normal routine, here are some great books I’m aniticpating in the coming months:

Available February 3rd: My Evil Valentine – Holidays can be murder even wrapped in red velvet boxes…A thrilling collection of never before published short stories by international bestselling authors: Debra Webb, Vicki Hinze, Rita Herron, Peggy Webb, V.R. Marks, Regan Black, and Kathy Carmichael.

Available March 21: Vile: The Faces of Evil, Book 8 by Debra Webb Deputy Chief Jess Harris knows her time is running out. Somehow she must protect the people she loves and any more innocent victims from the serial killer obsessed with her. Is sacrificing herself the only way to stop this evil?

Available June 10: Just One Thing by Holly Jacobs “Sometimes, you find yourself inadvertently in the dark. But I’d discovered that if you stopped fighting against it and just stood still, sometimes something marvelous comes along.”

Artist Lexie McCain spends her days literally weaving the story of her life into a gorgeous tapestry. But on Monday nights, she walks to the Corner Bar, drinks a Killian’s, and answers the same question every week from Sam the bartender: “One thing?” She starts with her name, then her cottage, slowly moving on to the devastating tragedies that tore her life apart.

Sam Corner’s smile doesn’t seem to hide any pain. One night, Lexie turns the tables on him, asking Sam, “One thing?” To her surprise, Sam reveals his own tragic history. Together, Lexie and Sam learn that, with good beer and a trusted friend, sharing just “one thing” might lead to the one thing they both thought was lost forever: love.

So many books to look forward to! Pre-order or add them to your wish list today!

      You’re welcome, Charlene! 🙂

Love the recommendations! Great way for me to discover new authors. I’ve given up my addiction to pre-ordering (yes I was an addict) due to the fact that 3 out of 4 books I preordered immediately went on sale! Argh

Bette, I completely understand! (which is why the wish list feature is also handy). But your comment reflects my own experience as a reader/consumer and I’m so glad you mentioned it. It’s something I have been thinking about and with my new releases I plan to try a short-term introductory price to reward fans who auto-buy my books the moment they are available.

  3. Sanat

I agree Bette. That is so frustrating to have that immediately go on sale.

I know what it’s like to have to move in a short period of time. Ugh, I hope I never have to do that again!

I am really looking forward to the new books you pointed out! 🙂

Thanks for the opportunity to win! 🙂

I’m glad you’re looking forward to these titles, Diana. I’ve been so eager for the Holly Jacobs book ever since she told me about it. As for moving, this experience made me want to clean out all the extra stuff we’ve accumulated here. (I’ll just have break it down and deal with one closet or drawer at a time, I think) 😉

So true! Seems like my TBR list keeps growing – as does my to-be-written list. 😉

Nice recommendations Regan! My Evil Valentine sounds like a great read with all the short stories. I love a good thriller! 🙂

Ohhhhhhh I just pre-ordered My Evil Valentine!!! And of course I’m on the edge of my seat to read Vile!!!!!! I hope your mom is settling in nicely!

Thanks, Nicole, for the pre-order and the well-wishes for my mom. She is really enjoying the new place. 🙂

I get most all my reading done just before I turn out the lights…usually I read romances and not murder mysteries as they can lead to nightmares. Your choice of books are great ones to read.

I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the matchmaker books. Just the right touch for a hectic day. Recently I moved from a 2 bedroom, den formal dinning room 2 baths yard etc. I moved into housing with 450 square feet. I still can’t find every thing 🙂 I do not know what I would do without books! They take me away from worries give me the joy of love the best healing anyone can have. The collection of the ‘Match maker’ was. My first taste of your writting I am so looking forward to more. Thank for all you do to give folks like some pleasure. PS: auto correct keeps changing my spelling and as a former teacher I know it “was” correct when I typed it in…please forgive and weird words or misspelled.

    1. Regan

Kathryn, you just made my day. I’m so glad you enjoyed the Matchmaker series. That particular series is a treat for me to write and I’m looking forward to bringing readers more stories from that world. LOL on the autocorrect thing – that ‘helpful’ tool can be such a pain.
