Riding the Post-Conference High

For my first professional outing in nearly four years, I picked the perfect conference to attend. RWA2013 in Atlanta was fantastic and precisely what I needed for an emotional, professional, and creative boost.

The speakers were inspirational. Cathy Maxwell delivered a keynote speech that reached out and grabbed me along with the rest of her listeners. I loved her emphasis on recognizing, nurturing, and having confidence in our own individual talents.

Confidence in our personal talents a fragile thing, sometimes elusive and often fickle. One minute I might be certain I can conquer the world – or at least the obstacles right in front of me – and the next it slips through my fingers like fog.

I know Cathy’s words, her energetic demand that we turn RWA13 into the ‘no doubt’ conference will stay with me and help me smooth out those inevitable highs and lows.

We handed out oodles of goody bags of hugs and kisses with Dangerous Desires trading cards at various signing and meet and greet events. A rep from Amazon even requested my autograph on a bookmark for his brag board in his office – that absolutely made my day!

It was terrific to connect with so many authors and publishing professionals. I loved catching up with people I haven’t seen in years and I made new friends as well as met a few online friends in person – which is always a delight. I’m still sorting through business cards and catching up with adding new friends on facebook and twitter.

The usual conference hangover hit me late Sunday and took up a great deal of Monday too. By Tuesday I dove back into the project I hadn’t quite finished before I left, and now I’m riding that infusion of energy from the busy swirl that only a conference of artists and writers can create.

What does that mean for readers? Well, I’m thrilled to report you can look forward to a brand new look and new content for the Shadows of Justice series coming September.

And hold on to your hats…

October means the arrival of something brand new: the Unknown Identities series. These books will be Dark. Gritty. Sexy. Above all, they will be packed with adventure, romance, a paranormal edge, and heroes and heroines to die for.

Literally? You ask…

But of course. 😉

Stay tuned for the cover reveals, sneak peeks, share contests, and more!

Live the adventure!
