July Blog Hop

Welcome to another great blog hop! This one brought to you by two amazing bloggers of all things sexy, paranormal and just plain fabulous: Ronda of Queentutt’s World of Escapism and Nikki of Close Encounters of theΒ Night Kind!

As an Army wife, it’s always a pleasure for me to be a part of events that honor our men and women who serve. Those in uniform and the families who support them give so much of themselves to preserve our freedoms here at home and to improve the lives of others around the world.

The Fourth of July is marked with all sorts of fond memories for me. I grew up with community parades, family and neighborhood picnics, concerts in the park, and of course the wonder and awe of stunning fireworks displays when night finally fell on those long summer days.

One of my favorite Fourths was the year we celebrated lakeside, where those huge bursts of sparkle and color shooting through the sky were reflected in the still water. It still brings a smile to my face. As does one of the Fourths when I was in the parade, wearing a floor-length formal during a hot spell almost as intense as the one sweeping the country this year.

What’s your favorite place or way to spend the Fourth of July?

After you’ve entered the rafflecopter giveaway here (below) for your chance at one of the Shadows to Light ebook prizes, be sure to visit Queentutt’s World of Escapism to enter the kindle e-reader giveaway using the rafflecopter form there.

Best way to celebrate is to be with family… having a wonderful and delicious BBQ! πŸ˜€

  6. My favorite thing about the 4th of July is of course the tradition of poping fireworks but mostly its because the family gathers and we BBQ and play games with the kids and now its my grandkids turn. It’s just such a joy for us all to get together and pig out on great food.

Thank you so much for being apart of the hop

After spending time with my family and eating lots of great food, the best thing to do is to sit and watch the fireworks display from the Rose Bowl.

When I was younger (a very long time ago) we used to stay over at my aunt’s house and each of the kids received a bag of firecrackers. I would have a blast with my cousins popping the firecrackers and just hanging out. Now we just stay home and watch tv.

Normally my family would get together, have a BBQ, then put off fireworks that night. Apart from the fireworks, though, that didn’t happen this year. Maybe next year. πŸ™‚

Thank you all for stopping by and sharing your comments! I’m sorry I couldn’t respond to each of you during this blog hop, I had my hands full with some family health issues that cropped up, but things have settled a bit now.

Good luck to all of you and winners will be announced shortly.
